My Orchids This Week

Phalaenopsis (large flowers)

A number of my orchids have decided to dazzle us with their blooms recently. I've been waiting a long time for my miltonia to flower and it was worth the wait. The fabulous stanhopea has sent another inflorescence down through the bottom of the wire basket so it won't be long before we are once again treated to the incredible scent of this orchid.

Arundina graminifolia (bamboo orchid) - grows in the ground, blooms all year, stems more then 2 meters tall
Miltonia - some scent
Phalaenopsis (small flowers)

Spectacular!
We have name our home Casa Orquidea - we have bamboo orchids and keep working on the phalaenopsis - not here permanently so they keep dying - someplace you know of to get a good variety of others?

I like the name of your home. The phals need a lot of moisture and no direct sun. I bought quite a few orchids from a lady moving back to the U.S. - no name tags on them tho. There is a booth at the Grecia feria that sells orchids with tags - very knowlegable lady selling them. The orchid shows are good sources also - that's where I bought my vandas - and you can pick up baskets,  potting material, etc. At our Atenas feria, there are always orchids for sale.
